Makeup Favorite-Honest Beauty Luminizing Glow Powder

I love sharing my “favorites” with you—especially when it involves makeup and skincare products—and since I made mention of an additional, and also new, makeup product that I’ve been using in one of my recent posts, I figured that it would only be right if I shared a little more about it with you…

While my preferred eye makeup, for the most part, has remained the same—liquid eyeliner and mascara being the staples within my daily makeup routine—my preferred makeup look for my face has definitely changed over the years, and, as a result, my everyday makeup routine for my face has been in a state of flux.

Up until recently, I’ve always gone with a matte look for my everyday made-up face, and would use a mattifying face powder to settle and smooth the foundation or concealer that I had previously applied. My affinity for a matte look hasn’t changed, but recently, my preference has been split between a matte and “dewy”, or glowing, finish…and since I recently made the shift from a cream-based to a liquid concealer, I used this change as the perfect opportunity to experiment with a different “finish” for my face.

The Honest Beauty Luminizing Glow Powder in Shade “Midnight Reflection” provides the natural glow that I was looking for within my everyday makeup look…It’s almost as if the “sparkle” is coming directly from the summer sun. Almost sheer in color, this glow powder gives the perfect luminous finish to any face, with or without makeup as its base. It’s a pressed powder, which I prefer for a cleaner application, and it’s extremely lightweight, not to mention a “clean beauty” product. What more could you ask for?

To maximize the appearance of this Luminizing Glow Powder, I first apply my Item Beauty Air Hug Concealer in Shade 110 (fair with warm peach undertones)—In my opinion, using either a concealer or foundation as a base creates an even and consistent surface for the seamless application of the powder—Then, using a powder brush, I apply the Luminizing Glow Powder to set the previously-applied concealer and highlight the “bolded” areas of my face (nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead)…ultimately giving off that natural-looking glow.

I don’t think my affinity for the matte look will ever fully go away, especially when I, at times, have the summer sun to take care of the glow aspect for me. However, with the sheer tone and lightweight nature of this product, the Luminizing Glow Powder will definitely be my go-to for a natural-looking glow, now and in the cooler months to come.
