Breakfast-The Most Important Meal of the Day

It just so happens that the most important meal of the day is also my favorite meal of the day.

Breakfast, in my opinion, helps to set the tone for your entire day. The food that you consume to fuel your body, especially in the morning, provides you with the energy to focus on and accomplish the goals that you have set for yourself on any given day—completing a workout, running errands, school or work responsibilities. They do not call it the most important meal of the day for nothing.

With that, not everyone would consider themselves a “breakfast person”. I eat breakfast every single morning, but I wouldn’t necessarily consider myself a breakfast person to the full extent. In fact, I prefer to have a relatively light meal in the morning, just enough food to fill me up and give me the energy that I need to complete my morning workout. I also crave sweeter foods in the morning, so my breakfast of choice is always centered around my desire to start the day off with something sweet.

So…what exactly do I eat for breakfast *almost* every morning? Oatmeal.

I’ve experimented with many different types of breakfast food, and oatmeal is the one that I always find myself coming back to. It’s quick and easy to make, an essential for those busy mornings. It’s healthy—packed with important vitamins and minerals, as well as a good source of protein and carbs—giving me the boost of energy that I need to get started with my day.  My favorite part about it, it’s customizable—there are countless toppings that can be added to align with your food cravings of any given morning.

I’m no expert when it comes to oatmeal, but thanks to TikTok, Instagram, and the Internet, I’ve discovered and made countless different oatmeal variations. Here are a few of my favorites…

Cranberry Walnut Oats

My current go-to:

*1 pack of Quaker Instant Oatmeal or ½ cup of Quaker Old-Fashioned Oats (cooked on stove)

*(Diamond) Chopped Walnuts

*(Decas Farms) Organic Dried Cranberries

*Justin’s Classic Almond Butter

Peanut Butter Banana Oats

My favorite combination. You can never go wrong with this dynamic duo.

*1 pack of Quaker Instant Oatmeal or ½ cup of Quaker Old-Fashioned Oats (cooked on stove)

*½ of a banana, sliced

*Justin’s Classic Peanut Butter

Apple Cinnamon Oats

A little something to switch it up…

*1 pack of Quaker Instant Oatmeal or ½ cup of Quaker Old-Fashioned Oats (cooked on stove)

*½ of an organic apple, chopped

*Justin’s Classic Peanut Butter

*sprinkle of cinnamon

*drizzle of organic honey

There you have it—light, sweet, and nutritious—some perfect options for the most important meal of the day. I know what you’re thinking, tomorrow’s breakfast could not come soon enough…enjoy!
