My Favorite Fashion Finds of this Summer
At this point, I think that you have a pretty good idea of just how much I LOVE to shop…for a lot of things, but clothing and shoes are definitely at the top of the list.
It’s crazy how much my style choices have evolved over the years. For most people, different phases of life come with new ways of self-expression, a major part of that being the way that we dress—While the past few years, for me, have been ones of significant style transformation, I feel that I’m now at a place where my wardrobe choices have become pretty consistent. Yes, I do give in to the occasional “trendy” purchase, but, for the most part, the pieces that I add to my closet are ones that I believe will enhance my outfit combinations for years to come.
With the month of July rapidly escaping us, I wanted to share with you my favorite fashion finds of this summer while you still have time left in the season to make some last-minute updates to your warmer weather wardrobe.
Ribbed Round Neck Tank Top
I was definitely late to the party with this purchase, but, you know what they say, better late than never. This Ribbed Round Neck Tank Top from Zara is the perfect basic to add to your wardrobe. With its visually appealing deep sleeveless cut, this racerback tank is different than your typical cropped cami or tank top, not to mention that it can be easily styled within countless outfit combinations (and it’s very good quality for just under $6!). Wear it alone with your favorite pair of lounge shorts or high-rise denim, or use it as an additional layer underneath a wide neck top for a fun and distinctive look.
Paisley Scarf Top
In my opinion, the scarf top is the go-to top style of this summer. With ties at the neck and the back, this Grey Bandit top (Margo Top) is completely “customizable”, giving you the ability to position it on your body in the most flattering and comfortable way. Not to mention, the light colors and print on this top are perfect for summer, making it just the piece that you need to lighten and brighten your wardrobe. This top looks best paired with a light wash or white pair of denim—shorts to accomplish an elevated casual look, and jeans to create a sleek and sophisticated look from top to bottom
*I snagged this piece back in January before it sold out, but with the popularity of this particular style this season, there’s no shortage of websites for you to browse in order to find a similar piece as good as this one!*
90s A-Line Shorts
If my previous post about my Good American Bermuda Shorts didn’t reveal to you just how much I’m loving longer shorts this season, this clothing pick should confirm any suspicions you may have…These High-Waisted, 90s-inspired shorts from Garage have quickly become one of my favorite pairs of denim. The Washed Black color enhances the already vintage style of these shorts, and their length, hitting a little below mid-thigh, makes it so numerous styles of tops can be worn in combination with them—a fitted tank or short-sleeve shirt, cropped or otherwise, a slightly oversized graphic tee—the possibilities here are endless.
Slinky Platform Sandals
I would be remiss if I didn’t finish off this summer style rundown with a pair of shoes. After all, what good is an outfit if you don’t have a killer pair of shoes to tie it all together?
For the past few years, I’ve been obsessed with platform shoes. Regardless of the season, I have continuously been finding myself drawn to platforms…on sandals, boots, sneakers, you name it—so it’s no wonder that my favorite shoe purchase of the summer is a platform sandal; specifically, the Slinky30 Black “Slide” from Steve Madden. In my opinion, these are truly timeless, and as a result, the perfect style of sandal for your summer wardrobe. Not only are they high-quality, comfortable, and extremely lightweight for a shoe with a platform, but the “slinky” strap makes it so these shoes can be paired with both ~somewhat~ casual and elevated looks—with shorts, jeans, dresses, rompers and jumpsuits, I would even argue a trendy t-shirt…these shoes have a way of working really well with whatever your style choice may be (for the most part) on a given day.
I hope these fashion finds have given you some inspiration for ways of enhancing and differentiating your wardrobe. The summer may be flying by, and at a much faster pace than we would like, but, in my opinion, now is just as good of a time as ever to invest in your present and future style…Happy shopping!
