My Latest Wardrobe Obsession

Jeans or Leggings? — the recurring debate I have with myself every single morning as I pick out my clothing for the day. There have been times in my life when I’ve been team denim all the way, but these days, especially, I find that leggings have been winning that morning debate more often than not.

I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with leggings. For starters, they’re one of the only clothing items you can own where it’s seen as acceptable to have several of the same exact thing (Exciting, I know). They’re also extremely comfortable, and not nearly as restricting as some pairs of jeans can be. However, time and time again, I find myself dealing with the “inevitable” life cycle of leggings: you think you find a great pair of leggings, and within some short period of time, a few weeks, months, or even a year or two (if you’re lucky), either you or someone else notices worn out patches in the knees, a hole, or some sort of rip that makes them no longer wearable. Now it’s back to the drawing board, and once again, you’re in search of a higher quality legging that will hold up better and longer than the last ones.

Well, I think I’ve finally found my solution to this long-time legging problem. It’s definitely not a new solution-I know many people that have had this brand and specific type of legging for years-but after too many years and countless pairs of ripped leggings later, I finally caved and splurged for this higher quality brand. My current wardrobe obsession: Lululemon Align Leggings.

Over the past year, I have become one of Lululemon’s biggest fans. I made my first Lululemon purchase in the summer of 2020, a pair of black align bike shorts—and they were almost impossible to get. I didn’t know this at the time, but the most common Lululemon sizes can sell out really fast after an item restocks, and being a first-time customer, I would always find that the shorts had restocked after the size I wanted to purchase was sold out. I did eventually get my hands on them, and I was obsessed. They fit so nicely-lightweight, yet high quality, comfortable, and extremely flattering…what more could you ask for in a pair of pants? At this point, I also decided to purchase my first pair of Align leggings, and I was equally, if not slightly more, impressed with the fit of these.

The Lululemon Align Leggings have become a staple in my everyday wardrobe. They come in a wide variety of different colors and prints—definitely a good thing, but also very dangerous for my bank account. They are also the softest pants that I currently own, and have ever owned, so much so that I sometimes even forget that I’m wearing pants when I have them on (weird, but true). My favorite thing about them, however, is just how flattering they are on my body. I always love the way that I look when I’m wearing a pair of Align leggings or shorts.

If you couldn’t tell already by my rave review, I think these are the PERFECT leggings for comfort and everyday lounging. Yes, they are on the more expensive side for leggings, but, in my opinion, the quality, fit, and feel make this purchasing decision so worthwhile.

So…Jeans or Leggings? If by leggings, you mean these, then team leggings for sure.
